BF6 BR Mode Goes Live This Week as a F2P Offering
After quite some time of anticipation, the BR mode for Battlefield 6 is finally launching. Recent talk suggesting its release would coincide with the new season were spot-on. Players can access the mode starting in just a day.
Launch Season Adding a Brand-New Arena, Mode, and Guns
In tandem with the BR release, Season 1 is also starting. This introduces a new map, a new mode, and fresh guns. On top of that, the Redacted Sector is making its debut. A included preview will be released at go-live, providing gamers a preview of what's to come.
Complimentary Model Enables the Mode Available to Any Player
Maybe the key detail is that this new experience will be free-to-play. Much like popular titles, you don't have to purchase the main title to join in. A number of participants have already tested alpha versions of the experience. These tests were held in a collaborative space, which the studio described as their biggest fan involvement effort.
The adrenaline rush when facing another squad is unique in any other last-man-standing mode. It seems life or death, and you actually care if you die or survive.
Even though I considered myself a critic earlier, I'm fully for the BR mode since trying it.
These early feedback from testers have been extremely encouraging. Naturally, the mode may have been adjusted over the last month or two in terms of game balance and tempo. Still, first impressions are promising that the battle royale could emerge as a genuine alternative to leading offerings. Some are wishing that the top weapons from the main game will carry over in the battle royale.
