Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
