Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
