Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.
So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
