Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
