Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
